We were hopeful heading to Plumpton on 7th January with Clondaw Westie for his second run in a handicap. Starting off as favourite we were looking for a big race from the gelding, despite it being a hot enough contest. We also had Aidan Coleman aboard which is always a plus as he tends to ride most of our winners! Westie was well up there on the bridle for 2 circuits but then unfortunately went out like a light, with Aidan stating he struggled to get home. Due to low sun 3 hurdles were omitted, therefore the field jumped only 4 in total which is unsuitable to Westie as his jumping really is what makes him a serious race contender. The horse is in good spirits at home and we will make a new plan!
