InMyDay Wins Maiden in Impressive Style

Updated: Feb 8, 2018

We headed to the famous Barbury Castle on 20th January with a maiden having his first run for the yard. We bought this horse for long-term owner Rodney Mann this summer from Ascot sales as he likes to have a competitive maiden. Not his usual stamp, InMyDay (known as Fred on the yard) is 17.2hh plus(!) but has shown some very promising qualities and schools beautifully at home. Having previously run in two Irish maidens, finishing in the pens both times, we decided Barbury would be a suitable course as it's a big galloping track, preferable to his stature. The 7-year-old jumped very well and traveled strongly throughout, only making a mistake 3-out but picked himself up well. He went on to win nicely under Joe, just showing to be very green after 2-out having galloped into isolation from his competitors. We were left feeling delighted following his performance, and enthusiastic for what the future will bring! We're now aiming for Charing Cross on 18th February all going well.

Happy connections on a wet day!
