Good Run from Miss Mayfair Under Previous Yard Novice Rider

Following her brilliant run at Plumpton, we were keen to run Miss Mayfair in a suitable race at Huntingdon not long after. With conditional jockey Fergus Gregory aboard, who has worked with us previously for a season as novice rider for Alan's yard, the mare ran under a lighter weight of 11lb 6oz, which is a great advantage. Fergus also knows the mare well which is always beneficial. He gave her a great positive ride in the 3m1f Handicap Hurdle and jumped into the lead 3 out but was soon beaten, despite staying on at one pace to finish 2nd. It was a bold shout to run her only 5 days after a win, but always worth a try.
