Coleman Revives Royal Etiquette's Confidence

Updated: Feb 13, 2018

On 31st January yard veteran Royal Etiquette headed to Leicester for the claiming hurdle with Aidan Coleman aboard. We were very happy with the jockey booking as the horse, known as Harry at Woodway, can be a little artful and needed an experienced jockey to hopefully get the best out of him. It was a 7 runner race, with Harry priced 20-1 which seemed generous considering his previous form. With the ground given as heavy, and Aidan stating in the paddock that it was the heaviest ground he had ridden on, the normal hold up tactics to ensure he travelled in the race were employed. With Aidan delivering him with a run after 2 out, he was able to finish 3rd beaten 7 lengths, which was a pleasing run. We felt this was a very good ride given by Aidan to show how to coax a horse who probably isn't the most willing to gain his best result. Our next run will hopefully be in a 0-100 selling hurdle at Fakenham, 16th February.
