Hello again!
Sorry for the radio silence and lack of updates and blogs on the website. However, we have been as busy as ever at Woodway Farm over the last year, with many days racing and lots of great results. In the 2021/22 season, we had 39 Point to Point winners, 3 Hunter Chase winners and 2 winners in under rules, making it our most successful season to date! Once again Alan finished 2nd in the Foran Equine National Trainers Championship and Izzie finished 2nd in the National Ladies’ Championship on 24 winners, both massive achievements. We would like to thank our hard working staff and brilliant and supporting owners who all make these results possible!
Here are some of our favourite moments from last season!
Hawkhurst and Bucaneros kicking off the season with a bang winning at the first meeting of the season, Pyle Point to Point, in very heavy ground!
An across the card treble at opposite ends of the country at Charing and Wadebridge Point to Points with Back Bar, Getting Closer and Voie Dans Voie.
Coolagh Park winning the Maiden at Horseheath Point to Point by 50 lengths on New Year’s Eve, making him the highest rated maiden winner of the season.
Reikers Island securing his Aintree Foxhunters qualification in great style when winning the Willoughby De Broke Open Hunters Chase at Warwick with Izzie aboard for owner Dan Cherriman.
Back Bar giving his owners The Cranfield Family their first rules win in the Dick Saunders Novice Hunter Chase at Leicester.
Hawkhurst bolting up at Horseheath Point to Point to win the Ladies Open on one of the wettest days of the season.

Quick Sharpener winning the Maiden at Guilsborough Point to Point, going on to sell privately to Dr Richard Newland. Diplomate Sivola and Ben made it a double on the day after winning the Mixed Open in great style!
Another amazing trip to Aintree for the Randox Foxhunters Hunter Chase with two runners, Reikers Island who finished 7th and Clondaw Westie, who came down at Canal Turn.
4yo Purple Empora running very promisingly on racecourse debut at Mollington, finishing 2nd.
Izzie scoring her first treble at Penshurst (her local Point to Point), winning the Maiden on Calvic, the Restricted on Whatya On About, and the Conditions race on Getting Closer. Tidal Flow also won at Brafield to make it a four-timer on the day for the yard!
A great day scoring a treble at Kingston Blount Point to Point with Polydora and Harry coming home miles clear to win the 4m Mixed Open, and Izzie winning the Maiden on Mythical Prince and the Veteran Conditions on Knight Bachelor.

A double on a sunny day down at Holnicote with Sir Mangan and Ben winning the Mixed Open and Our Brother John and Izzie winning the Maiden race.
Knight Bachelor and Craven Bay both winning at two Kingston Blount meetings, Craven Bay his Maiden and Restricted and Knight Bachelor the Veteran Conditions and Ladies Open.
The Brassmoulder scoring his second win of the season in a tenacious battle at Peper Harrow in the Ladies Open.
Long time team member Clemmie Jackson having her first ride at Edgcote Point to Point on her new horse Port of Mars in the Mixed Open!
The hot and dry Summer enabled us to finish Harvest on the farm a lot earlier this year, so we are back into racing mode and raring to go (only 10 weeks to go)! The horses are nearly all back in and hard at work getting fit for next season, including lots of new horses. The National Hunt Yard also has some exciting additions this season, and we are particularly looking forward to Maiden Hurdle winner Everythings’ontick making his Chase debut!
We have re-launched our website which is now up to date with everything you need to know about Woodway Farm, so keep your eyes peeled for lots more pictures and blogs to come!
