Lawney and husband Alan have been training horses for 30 years and their great enthusiasm and commitment to this endeavour has paid dividends. Devotion to the venture led to Lawney’s professional licence in 2005 and aided Alan to be crowned the National Point to Point Champion Trainer in 2014, and finish second every year after. Joe has now retired from the saddle and taken over the role of Assistant Trainer, in which he has proved to be a great asset, particularly with race planning and training.

Woodway Farm is situated at the foot of the Chiltern Hills in Oxfordshire, within a 1,000 acre farm. With access to 50 acres of grass gallops, a deep sand gallop, all weather gallops and extensive woodland hacking, we pride ourselves on tailoring our training to every individual horse's needs. The yard consists of both young unraced horses and older veteran horses. Our facilities and expertise have allowed us to successfully nurture many horses' careers right from the very start until they are ultimate teenage schoolmasters.
